Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of two silver stylized runways crossed saltirewise, their ends terminating in arrowheads and charged with a Korean Taeguk at center all on a blue disc enclosed by a silver scroll inscribed with the motto "VOICE OF THE AVIATION" in black letters in the base and two crossed orange flashes at top. 

Symbolism
The location of the Battalion in Korea is indicated by the Taeguk.  The crossed runways and blue disc symbolize the unit's sphere of operations, the airport and the sky.  The arrowheads represent control and direction, Air Traffic Control's mission.  The crossed flashes refer to Air Traffic Control's close association with Communications and depict its link with the aircraft it controls.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 4 December 1979.
